*9th ANNUAL CHARTER BUSES TO THE STARTING LINE!*
(please read all of the details as there is a lot of info below to ensure a smooth process)
Back for another year! We will have buses once again going from midtown Manhattan to the starting line in Brooklyn - this is the 8th year that we will be doing this!
BUS DETAILS: Buses will depart starting approximately at 5:00am for earlier waves and will be staggered thru out the morning. As an FYI, race officials break up the start into 4-5 waves so our buses will stagger accordingly so that for example, wave 5 runners are not arriving as early as wave 1 runners. But all buses will arrive in plenty of time for runners to allow for security walk thru and bag check. Buses are comfortable charter buses with heat and bathrooms. We will be using the same company as previous years.*Departure location will be Madison Avenue between 53rd st & 54th street in Manhattan.
*BUS DROP OFF will be dependent on where NYRR designates entry for waves. We will make every effort to drop off runners close enough to park entrances but slightly away from the park so buses can idle should you want to stay on them and stay warm.
*Price per passenger will be $29.00.

If you are purchasing for someone else, they must be done as separate transactions and the name in the text box must be different. Each year, I get people who purchase mutliple spots but they don't tell me all the names in the text box and it get very confusing at the end!
*The bus fee is only a one way fee and there are no buses after the race.
AVAILABILITY: is on a first come first served basis and once we have reached capacity we will no longer sell bus admission. At the moment we will aim to have seven to eight buses but will consider doing more if there is demand.
BUS ASSIGNMENT:Important- Once the race sponsor, NYRR, has announced starting waves and corrals for runners (late Feb / early March) ,I will be making a post asking for wave info for those who have paid for a bus seat so that we can assign buses accordingly. Until then, there is no bus # assignment however once you have paid for a seat you are guaranteed a seat on the bus. Therefore, once you pay for the bus, please do not disappear from the Facebook group page as I will need to know your wave placement when its available.
FULL DISCLOSURE: Our buses are not the only way to get to the start area. As a New Yorker myself, I will attest to the fact that you can easily take the subway to the start. HOWEVER, the subways have been known to have service disruptions, track work and sporadic schedules on the weekends. There is no way of knowing whether any of these will occur on race day. I don't know about you, but there is enough to worry about running a half marathon. The reliability of getting there shouldn't be one of them. Personally, I prefer the comfort, reliability and the ability to stay on the bus if it should be cold longer until its necessary to get off for security check in and bag check. But that's just me!
